CHINA IS CLAMPING DOWN ON IT'S INTERNET PLATFORMS
Saw an interesting article today about how the Chinese authorities are attempting to clamp" down on the country's dominent internet platforms, which are accused of engaging in a wide range of anti-competitive practices."
"The regulations are intended to prevent the country’s dominant tech companies from squeezing out rivals by offering below-cost services, exclusive distribution requirements, engaging in price fixing, as well as using algorithms and other restrictive technologies to manipulate the market."
"When China first announced the draft rules in mid-November, Chinese tech companies lost almost $290 billion in market value over two frenetic days of trading."
What do you think? How much of a problem is this outside of China? Will China be successful and, if so, what do you think the ramifications are for the rest of the world?
